How to use your Liva Nails gel pen, step by step.

The Liva Nails gel pen is gel polish in a pen: base, colour and top coat in one, with a precise brush tip. With 60 seconds under the UV/LED lamp per layer, you get a glossy gel finish that lasts up to 14 days.

Two thin layers beat one thick one.

A thick layer doesn't cure all the way through and can chip. Apply two thin layers instead and give each one 60 seconds under the lamp. The gel cures completely and your colour lasts longer.

Step by step

  1. PrepWash and dry your hands, push back your cuticles and lightly buff the nail surface so the gel grips better.
  2. ShakeShake the pen for a few seconds to mix the colour.
  3. ApplyPaint a thin layer from the cuticle to the tip, then swipe lightly along the free edge to seal it.
  4. CurePlace your nail under the UV/LED lamp for 60 seconds.
  5. Second layer RecommendedRepeat with another thin layer and 60 seconds under the lamp for rich, full coverage.

Our tips

  • Leave a tiny gap at the cuticle and skin: gel on the skin makes the polish lift.
  • If gel touches your skin, wipe it off with a cotton swab before curing.
  • If the surface feels slightly tacky after the last layer, wipe it with a cotton pad and a little alcohol.
  • Combine several shades to create your own nail art.

Gel polish won't come off with regular polish remover. With an acetone-based remover it takes about 10 minutes and stays gentle on your nails.

Step by step

  1. BuffLightly buff off the glossy surface so the remover can soak in.
  2. SoakPlace a cotton pad soaked in acetone-based remover on the nail and wrap it in foil.
  3. WaitLeave it on for about 10 minutes.
  4. Push offGently push off the softened gel with a cuticle stick. If some remains, repeat for a few minutes.
  5. CareWash your hands and treat nails and cuticles with a little cuticle oil.

Our tips

  • Never peel the gel off: it takes the top layer of your nail with it.
  • Use a remover with acetone, otherwise the gel won't dissolve.
  • A little oil every day between manicures keeps your nails healthy.
